Prior to joining EY in 2008, Tina worked for a WTO-related organization in Shanghai and later European Commission in Belgium, providing legal advises in relation to international trade issues. In recent years, Tina has been invited to participate in many large-scale conferences and forums such as the China Council for Trade in Services, China-EU Chamber of Commerce, and China-US Chamber of Commerce, where she has shared her insights on topics such as Sino-US trade disputes, CBAM, and export control compliance. In addition, Tina has been a guest lecturer at several well-known universities to share the policies insight related to Trump 2.0 tariff policies.   Violante di Canossa Development Economist, Head of Strategic Partnerships and Policy team, UNDP China Violante di Canossa (Viola) is the Development Economist and Head of Strategic Partnerships and Policy Team at UNDP China. She has been collaborating with the office since 2018, first as the leading author of a study on global value chains in the palm oil sector and then as a development advisor. She has now oversight on a broad policy portfolio covering thematic areas of relevance for a just and inclusive low carbon transition domestically and globally. Viola has had a diverse career combining an interest in both development and mainstream economics. Before joining UNDP China, she worked for the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD), a Swiss think tank, on sustainable global value chains. Prior to that she worked for 10 years as an Economist for Credit Suisse (London), covering European macro trends and their impact on policy and international financial markets. Educated in Italy and the United Kingdom, Viola holds a master’s degree in economics from the London School of Economics.   Alfredo Montufar-Helu Senior Advisor to the China Center, The Conference Board   Alfredo Montufar-Helu works for The Conference Board as the Senior Advisor to the China Center. He oversees the work done by the China Center to support C-level executives on the ground in Greater China and elsewhere through customized briefings, and by providing a platform where they can interact with peers; access market-leading insights; and build meaningful relationships.  Based in China since 2013, Alfredo has focused on analysing the business implications of policy, economic and political developments for companies investing and operating in China, and in the broader Asian region. This with the aim of distilling complex issues and conveying clear takeaways on how to capture business opportunities and respond to emerging challenges. Before joining The Conference Board, Alfredo was the Beijing Director of The Economist Intelligence Corporate Network, which is the C-suite briefing and networking arm of The Economist Group. Prior to joining EY in 2008, Tina worked for a WTO-related organization in Shanghai and later European Commission in Belgium, providing legal advises in relation to international trade issues. Tina holds a Master Degree of Law from Free University of Brussels in Belgium, and she was qualified as attorney-at- law in China in 2009. Tina has over 16 years’ experience in international trade and Customs issues, represented multinational companies before China Customs authorities in various Customs cases including Customs valuation, Customs classification, processing trade, etc. Additionally, she also has rich experience in supply chain planning, Customs compliance management and preferential tariffs treatment for cross-border enterprises investing abroad. In recent years, Tina has been invited to participate in many large-scale conferences and forums such as the China Council for Trade in Services, China-EU Chamber of Commerce, and China-US Chamber of Commerce, where she has shared her insights on topics such as Sino-US trade disputes, CBAM, and export control compliance. In addition, Tina has been a guest lecturer at several well-known universities to share the policies insight related to Trump 2.0 tariff policies.   Violante di Canossa Development Economist, Head of Strategic Partnerships and Policy team, UNDP China Violante di Canossa (Viola) is the Development Economist and Head of Strategic Partnerships and Policy Team at UNDP China. She has been collaborating with the office since 2018, first as the leading author of a study on global value chains in the palm oil sector and then as a development advisor. She has now oversight on a broad policy portfolio covering thematic areas of relevance for a just and inclusive low carbon transition domestically and globally. Viola has had a diverse career combining an interest in both development and mainstream economics. Before joining UNDP China, she worked for the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD), a Swiss think tank, on sustainable global value chains. Prior to that she worked for 10 years as an Economist for Credit Suisse (London), covering European macro trends and their impact on policy and international financial markets. Educated in Italy and the United Kingdom, Viola holds a master’s degree in economics from the London School of Economics.   Alfredo Montufar-Helu Senior Advisor to the China Center, The Conference Board   Alfredo Montufar-Helu works for The Conference Board as the Senior Advisor to the China Center. He oversees the work done by the China Center to support C-level executives on the ground in Greater China and elsewhere through customized briefings, and by providing a platform where they can interact with peers; access market-leading insights; and build meaningful relationships.  Based in China since 2013, Alfredo has focused on analysing the business implications of policy, economic and political developments for companies investing and operating in China, and in the broader Asian region. This with the aim of distilling complex issues and conveying clear takeaways on how to capture business opportunities and respond to emerging challenges. Before joining The Conference Board, Alfredo was the Beijing Director of The Economist Intelligence Corporate Network, which is the C-suite briefing and networking arm of The Economist Group. Prior to that, he was Associate Director at KPMG’s Global China Practice, where he led and contributed to numerous thought leadership projects, including flagship reports, customised business briefings, and policy proposals for Chinese authorities. He also played a large role in events programming and outreach, including leading the design and coordination of high-profile events aimed at senior executives. Before that, Alfredo worked for J Capital Research, Eurasia Group and the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Alfredo has a Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) from Georgetown University, and a BA in Political Science and International Relations from Mexico’s Center of Research and Teaching in Economics (aka. CIDE).
