RECAP: Seminar on Corporate Challenges, 14.11, Shanghai

On Friday, 14 November 2025, the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC), together with SDA Bocconi School of Management, hosted the seminar “Corporate Challenges in a Changing Global Competitive Landscape: Implications for Italian and European Companies” at The Langham, Shanghai, Xintiandi, offering insights on global trends and strategic implications for businesses.

Highlights of the event included:

• The event opened with a dedicated lecture for a group of 30 SDA Bocconi students, during which Prof. Roberto Donà provided an in-depth overview of major global megatrends, China’s economic trajectory, and the growing relevance of compliance, sustainability, and digital transformation.
• Following this first session, an additional group of around 30 participants joined the event for the live talk with Prof. Carlo Altomonte. His intervention offered a European perspective on corporate competitiveness, fostering an engaging moment of debate and exchange among participants. The two-part structure allowed attendees to benefit from both an academic deep dive and a strategic discussion tailored to the challenges facing Italian and European companies in today’s evolving global landscape.
• The event gathered approximately 60 participants in total, including professionals, managers, and members of the academic and business communities, who had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of competitiveness models, exchange operational insights, and take away practical considerations for strategy development.
• The seminar concluded with a networking aperitif, providing a valuable opportunity for participants to share experiences, connect with peers, and explore potential future collaborations.
